TuneCV Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 25, 2025
Overview
TuneCV helps job seekers analyze resumes, compare job descriptions, and generate AI-assisted improvements. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and your options for controlling your information.
Information We Collect
Account Data: Name, email address, password hash, and authentication provider identifiers (such as Google) stored securely via Supabase Authentication.
Usage Data: Resume files, job descriptions, improvement notes, and exported documents that you upload or create when using the TuneCV dashboard.
Diagnostic Data: Logging metadata, performance metrics, and anonymized analytics captured through Vercel, Supabase, and monitoring tools to keep the service reliable.
How We Use Your Information
Providing Services: Parse resumes, run AI analysis via Google Gemini, calculate ATS scores, and generate exports tailored to your inputs.
Improving Platform Quality: Monitor aggregated trends to tune scoring heuristics, improve parsing accuracy, and troubleshoot issues.
Account Security: Detect unauthorized access, enforce rate limits, and protect your account using Supabase row-level security and session management.
Data Processing & Storage
Resume Processing: Uploaded files are parsed temporarily, converted to structured data, and stored in Supabase for history tracking and exports.
AI Analysis: Relevant resume and job snippets are sent to Google Gemini strictly for the purpose of generating analysis results; we do not permit Gemini responses to train public models.
Caching: Vercel KV may cache hashed requests to speed up repeated analyses. Cache entries exclude raw resume content and expire automatically per TuneCV policy.
Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. Access is limited to service providers essential to TuneCV operations, including Supabase (authentication and database), Vercel (hosting and edge caching), Google Cloud (Gemini AI), and Paddle (payments). Each provider processes data solely to deliver services requested by TuneCV.
Data Retention
Account data persists while your TuneCV account is active. Resume analyses, exports, and job comparisons are retained so you can revisit past work and audit AI-generated recommendations.
You may request deletion of your account or individual resume records. We respond to verified requests within 30 days unless a longer retention period is required by law.
Your Choices
Access and Update: Review profile data within the dashboard and contact janardhan@tunecv.app for corrections you cannot perform yourself.
Delete Data: Request deletion of your account or specific analyses at any time by emailing janardhan@tunecv.app from your registered email.
Email Preferences: Opt out of non-essential updates via unsubscribe links or by contacting support.
Security
TuneCV uses HTTPS everywhere, enforces Supabase row-level security, encrypts secrets using Vercel encrypted environment variables, and monitors access for anomalies. No security practice is perfect, but we work continually to protect your information.
International Users
TuneCV is operated from the United States. By using the service, you consent to processing in the U.S. If you access TuneCV from other regions, note that data laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
Children's Privacy
TuneCV is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact janardhan@tunecv.app and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect operational or legal changes. Revised versions will be posted on tunecv.app/privacy with an updated effective date. Material changes will be announced via in-app notice or email.
